Mountlake Terrace, WA – AudioControl, long known for their legacy of offering high performance measurement and correction products announced that their SA-3050 Audio Analyzer will be inducted into the CEDIA Product Hall Of Fame at the 2009 Expo in Atlanta. The SA-3050 is a one-third-octave real time audio analyzer that allows Electronic Systems Contractors to easily and accurately measure the frequency response and sound pressure levels of audio systems. The AudioControl SA-3050 was one of eight products from selected manufacturers that will be part of the inaugural group that will be inducted this fall.

“We are very honored and flattered that the SA-3050 audio analyzer is being included with this distinguished group of companies,” announced Tom Walker, President of AudioControl. “Over the years many residential and commercial dealers have come to rely on their SA-3050’s everyday and provide truly amazing stories about how indestructible these units are.”

FSR Enhances Two Table Boxes, Adding Cable Pulls

The design of the new T3-PC1-CP & T3-AC2-CP table boxes allows for more convienent access to cables making them ideal for desktop and laptop PC users. On both models, the cables extend out to reach the equipment. The user pulls out the desired cables from the unit’s compartment and connects the laptop or PC. Once the user is finished, the cables are returned to the compartment for safe keeping. This great feature is both a time saver and a theft deterrent.

Additionally, the AC power outlets inside the compartment provide an AC source for PC’s and laptops. The AC power cord that feeds the outlets has a convenient plug that is simply plugged into a local wall outlet. Hardwire versions are also available.

The two models feature different outlets and cables to meet your needs. T3-PC1-CP allows the user to connect a laptop or PC to AC power and an external video display and house sound system as well as ‘link up’ with network and phone lines. The T3-AC2-CP allows for access to AC power outlets and pre-installed network cables for up to two computers or laptops.

Both of these stylish table boxes are available in brushed black, aluminum or special order brass.

These units are made in the USA, and are manufactured for a “Green” environment. For a complete data sheet or sales/technical information, contact FSR at 1-800-332-FSR1 or visit

What Does Renovia Mean?

I have heard this question many times since NuVo introduced the concept of our new Renovia Powerline System. On the surface, the name means renovate in conjunction with an Italian word, via, which means road or path. If you put those two words together you have the path to renovation. Thus was the inspiration for the development of the Renovia System. The deeper meaning of Renovia lies in the details of what it offers.

NuVo has had its eye on the “retrofit” market for some time, long before the dreaded recession word crept back into our vocabularies. Existing homes offer a vast market and is one that desperately needs well thought out solutions. Why not take the incredible combination of high value price, high-end features and ease of installation the existing Essentia and Grand Concerto Systems already bring to the custom installation industry, and put that into an existing Powerline based system? Well, that is exactly what Renovia does.

Renovia takes full advantage of the obvious. That is the existing AC wiring in the home. Why not? The wiring is already in the walls, so extending audio and the related metadata for our control pads from the equipment head-end to each of the zones does not require a major effort. Sending all of the data over a wire is far more reliable than expecting the same information to travel from point A to point B through the air. The secret to the success of Renovia is the use of HomePLUG® technology. This is the same technology that has been enabling Ethernet communication over Powerline for some time now, but is beefed up for audio video use.

The genius of Renovia is how it uses the HomePLUG technology. Renovia will distribute all current NuVoNet sources, like the NuVoDocks for iPod, the T2SIR, FAM and DAB Dual Tuners, the M3 Audio Server, and the New innovative Music Port to up to twelve individual Zone Amplifier modules. Any current dual gang, single gang and Wireless Control Pad can control each zone, and yes, the new Touch Pad, which is just around the corner. The same level of communication and intuitive installation that have made Essentia and Grand Concerto the most popular audio distribution systems in the world is the foundation for Renovia. STRAIGHT WIRE Launches SDMI II- Super Definition Multi-Media Interface Premium HDMI  1.3 certified with integrity assurance circuitry for long lengths

Straight Wire introduces SDMI II digital audio video cables up to 20 meters (52.5 ft) in length that utilize silver-plated 24 Ga. conductors and precision internal windings. They deliver exceptional digital video performance due to minimal variation from the 100 ohm standard, even over long lengths.  The relevant issue for high- speed digital signals is not resistance, but insulation and twisted pair variations that can cause impedance fluctuations. Utilizing a larger diameter conductor helps reduce these variations. Carefully controlled windings and precision connector assembly ensure premium digital high definition performance. High quality shielding minimizes interference errors.

SDMI II cables have a durable CL rated outer jacket, which assists in pulling long runs through walls. The unique rectangular trapezoidal molding over the connector encapsulates the correction circuit for long run cables. Cables are tested for inter and intra-skew, eye test and functionality in a real life application to ensure great performance and reliability.

Straight Wire SDMI cables come in standard lengths from 1 – 20 meters and have MSRP from $100 to $500. The main application is for long run digital video interfaces between source units and remote mounted Plasma, LCD and Projector display devices. For more information please visit
