Kordz EVO HDMI – HDMI (mini)
One of the updates with the HDMI 1.3 specification is the advent of an optional ‘Type C’ connector. This ‘mini’ HDMI connector still maintains a full HDMI signal, capable of the same features of its larger (‘Type A’) common brother. Many of the new high definition digital camcorders offer this new type of connection, allowing for uncompressed 1080p video to be displayed on your screen. Some now also support new features such as x.v.color, giving stunning results.
Kordz have introduced 1 and 2m cables, using our latest ‘GEN4’ cable technology. This has allowed us to offer full ‘High Speed’ support in a compact and flexible cable. Features such as 1080p, deep color & x.v.color are all supported. This has been achieved by utilizing new cable geometry and our new Bitrate Optimized Soldering System (B.O.S.S.) – a process that is completely automated and uses extremely precise contacts, without the damaging use of heat to apply the solder…

Tannoy announce VQ LIVE in partnership with Red Square Audio
Having achieved unprecedented success and critical acclaim in the installation market with their new VQ Series sound reinforcement loudspeaker range, TANNOY have forged a productive and promising partnership with Paul Nicholson’s RED SQUARE AUDIO to develop and market a live/touring version of the product.
Having first heard the system at the 2008 ABTT Show, Nicholson had been keeping a keen eye on the product’s early success in the installation market and felt there was massive potential for VQ as a world class live system. Following some informal discussion of the possibilities, TANNOY welcomed Nicholson’s extensive expertise to the table and he began consulting with their engineering team on adapting the existing VQ Series to suit the touring market.
Within a very short period of time TANNOY had responded to Nicholson’s ideas, resulting in a new and radical departure for the company – a product that promises to take TANNOY into the high end pro audio market – VQ LIVE.
Offering significant and tangible benefits over other brands: sonic superiority, less boxes required, lower costs and full VNET implementation (allowing system commissioning and ongoing venue network control, incorporating real time diagnostics), VQ LIVE has the potential to be a true line array killer.
About Tannoy VQ – Initially developed as a serious alternative to line array in the installation market, VQ delivers the inherent benefits of a point source cabinet while overcoming many of the perceived weaknesses. With unheralded pattern control and extremely high sensitivity, a single VQ cabinet can deliver better SPL coverage and clarity than an array comprising of 4 or 5 boxes. As an example, a VQ 60 will produce 115dB for 1 Watt; and 138dB (144dB peak) for only 200 Watts of amplifier power, with a tightly controlled 60° dispersion pattern across the full frequency range. Be sure to visit Tannoy at InfoComm – Booth #6601 and Demo Room W205A. For more information please visit www.tannoy.com.
