BEAM Central Vacuums Rated No. 1 in Quality

Builders and contractors have ranked BEAM by Electrolux as the highest quality central vacuum systems on the market for the seventh year in a row, according to an annual survey of more than 3,000 builders and contractors.

“Builders and buyers of new homes have great experiences with BEAM Central Vacuum Systems,” says Brian Campbell, senior product manager for BEAM. “For builders, that means more satisfied customers and few call-backs. For home buyers, it means years of reliable, deep-cleaning performance and healthier indoor air.”

The survey sponsored by Hanley Wood, the publisher of Builder magazine examined respondents’ familiarity, usage and quality perceptions of brands in 81 product categories from appliances to windows.

To determine builders’ quality preferences, respondents rated central vacuum brands on a scale of one to seven, with seven being “excellent.” BEAM earned an average score of 5.51.

The survey also found that the number of builders who installed BEAM systems in their homes increased by 31 percent since Hanley Wood’s previous survey released in 2010. More than one-fifth of builders and contractors have had BEAM Central Vacuum Systems installed in their homes during the past two years.

Campbell credits continuous innovation combined with an unmatched network of independent dealers for BEAM’s growth in the new home market. BEAM products also are manufactured in facilities that recently were recertified as meeting the  International Organization for Standardization’s ISO 9001 quality standards. ISO 9001 is the world’s best known process and quality standard critical to the exchange of goods and services.

“We continue to raise the bar for cleaning power, filtration, convenience, quiet operation, and reliability,” Campbell says. “Builders and contractors also appreciate the outstanding installation capabilities of BEAM dealers.”

Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems is the world’s leading producer and marketer of built-in central vacuums. The company’s BEAM, Electrolux and Eureka Central Vacuum Systems are sold in 50 countries around the world. Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems is a division of Electrolux Home Care Products North America.

Certified Cyber Solutions and SurgeX Join Forces to Offer Advanced System Monitoring, Protection and Energy Management

Certified Cyber Solutions, a leader in remote network monitoring and secure remote access control is proud to announce its partnership with SurgeX. As more IP Addressable power protection products are specified into integrated systems, network functionality and cyber security has become increasingly important. This partnership joins together SurgeX’s revolutionary surge elimination with Certified Cyber Solutions’ innovative cyber protection and monitoring technology to provide an unparalleled solution, unifying the best in network and power management.

Protecting the system and its customers is a main priority for integrators and can become a major issue if not managed properly. This new partnership integrates the SurgeX iControl surge elimination technology and power management with the advanced secure remote management from Certified Cyber Solutions, creating one single solution designed to erase those issues and give the customer the peace of mind that their system is fully protected. The iControl power  management system enable integrators the power to customize, synthesize and monitor individual outlets and power settings on integrated IP Addressable SurgeX Advanced Series Mode Power Conditioners, online via remote access. The SurgeX iControl allows integrators to create and run sophisticated, custom sequences across your entire network and receive email notifications base on user definer, pre-determined conditions and thresholds, including: outlet status, current draw, power consumption, and rack temperature.

Certified Cyber Solutions technology offers secure remote management of an entire system. Its ground-breaking technology reduces the threat of cyber crime, as well as gives integrators a single dashboard to monitor, manage and troubleshoot any issues that may arise in their systems. This dashboard provides a building schematic and floor plan view of any device on the network, right down to the office location, giving the integrator a unique interface that provides them with the capability to monitor and manage devices. The simple point and click navigation allows users to quickly troubleshoot problems, monitor and manage energy usage data and operational status as well as send user defined notifications. Certified Cyber Solutions takes remote management to a whole new level and enables integrators to troubleshoot problems with any product on the IP network. The beauty of the system is that integrators can actually see what the problem is, from faulting wiring to installation error, without even having to roll a truck to a site. This allows integrators to fix most issues from their own stores, and should they need to go onsite, they know exactly what the issue is, and can bring the appropriate equipment to fix it – the first time out.  Perfect for managing multiple properties, the solution offers integrators an aerial view of their full territory, providing a snapshot of each individual system. In one quick look, an integrator can survey all of their properties and immediately see if there is an issue.

Hall Research announces the release of the AD-340 Universal Audio Delay Processor. This compact device can add delay to stereo as well as multi-channel bitstream Audio signals. Audio delay has traditionally played an important role in large venue sound reinforcement systems, however the increasing prevalence of high definition video has created a new niche due to the time required to process HD video causing lip-sync issues. The AD-340 provides both analog (L/R) and digital (SPDIF) inputs and outputs, enabling conversion between analog stereo to LPCM or vice versa.

Output delay can be dialed as milliseconds, video frames, or simply distance depending on the application. Analog inputs provide +/- 24 db of gain for direct connection of low level mic as well as handling 2vrms line-level signals.  The AD-340’s digital I/O support 2-channel linear PCM, 5.1 Channel Dolby Digital, and DTS Surround encoded bitstreams at any sampling rate from 32KHz to 96KHz. Inputs are ground-loop isolated to prevent buzz and hum noise when connecting to PC’s or other unbalanced sources.

For advanced control, the AD-340 connects to a PC via USB port. No special drivers are needed and Hall Research provides a free software utility that allows advanced  features such as: selection of sample rate for analog inputs, temperature compensation of delay calculation for a given distance, and gain level control of analog inputs and outputs. The AD-340 is designed and manufactured in Southern California and is available at a suggested retail price of $295.
