D-Tools Design Award winners and finalists are selected from a diverse group of D-Tools user projects, the winning entries were chosen by D-Tools product team members and select certified partners, and were judged on a number of criteria; originality, depth and breadth of D-Tools’ software usage, overall system design, and demonstrated proficiency with the platform.

  • Best Commercial:
    Atea – Fire Station Project – Submitted by Christian Brondbo
    Project overview: AV integration and communication between the Fire Department operation center and main station. The systems are connected, which enables the operations center to share screen content with the emergency staff room at the fire station.
  • Honorable Mentions, Commercial:
    Residential Media Systems – Country Club Project – Submitted by Zach Boyd
    Project overview: AV and control integration for a prestigious Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. This included installation of high performance AV for the terrace bar and dining area and top-notch audio system that quickly switches between music, display audio, and public announcements.
  • Current Supply – Arena Lounge Project – Submitted by Nathan Haynes
    Project overview: AV overhaul of an exclusive lounge within Rogers Arena, the Arena Lounge for club seat holders. Location featured multiple 4K displays in the private booth area, multiple zones of HD audio with house feeds, and control via a central touchscreen for AV and lighting systems.
  • Best Residential:
    Homeplay – Spanish Countryside Residence – James Ratcliffe
    Project overview: Remotely managed installation of home technology AV system down to the very last connector.
  • Honorable Mention Residential:
    Controltech – Home Automation Project – Submitted by Juan Clement
    Project overview: First stage of home project in Chihuahua, Mexico involving security, HVAC, lighting, and AV control and automation, and the installation of 10 audio zones and 12 video zones.

    Hausba Smarthomes – Residential Showroom Project – Submitted by Chibuzo Nwankpo
    Project overview: Automation of residential dealer showroom located in the Hausba Experience Center, Abuja, Nigeria.
  • Most Unique:
    Inspired Dwellings – UK Smart Home – Submitted by Annabelle D’Silva
    Project overview: Chelsea, UK smart home consisting of multiple installations; a security, AV, home automation, door entry and telephone system, all managed from a different location.
  • Best Overall:
    Arrow AV – 100 Year-Old Church Project – Submitted by Martin Davey
    Project overview: AV upgrade to a historic, 100 year-old church, consisting of the original main building with several newer additions.
