Introducing New Pricing Tiers for 2016
2015 rebates are just around the corner.
Effective January 1, 2016: Autonomic is implementing new Silver, Gold and Platinum pricing tiers as an extension to the existing Premier Dealer Program.
The Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Barcelona will remain an important source of inspiration and motivation for our team for months to come. It was enthusing to present our ClickShare wireless meeting-room presentation system to the many attending CIOs and IT and we’ve learned a lot from their feedback. Moreover, several of the trends discussed during the event confirmed that ClickShare really meets the needs of today’s digital businesses!
As I mentioned in my previous blog, the ongoing digital evolution is touching every aspect of our organizations. Committed to becoming a digital business, forward-looking companies are increasingly adopting bimodal IT: they combine their legacy IT systems with innovative, next-generation solutions that are inspired by the applications that employees are using in their everyday lives. These new applications and services have to be intuitive and ensure interconnectivity with the many different devices that both employees and guests bring along to the workplace these days.
A marathon a year
Now, is there one place in a company where so much information is shared and so many different devices are used than in meeting rooms or boardrooms? Well there isn’t, is there. And yet, most meeting rooms show not the least sign of ‘digital evolution’. While we know that today’s digital audience demands active involvement in meetings, the meeting rooms themselves often lack solutions for them to connect easily with each other and with their data.
We’ve collected a few staggering figures to illustrate the ‘problem’. 20% of meetings that overrun, do so because of problems with equipment. IT managers face almost 450 issues with meeting rooms every year and walk a staggering marathon to fix them. 68% of meeting participants claim they cannot share data from their personal devices.
Interaction and engagement
Barco believes that collaboration and sharing information between colleagues, business partners, etc. should be as easy as having a face-to-face conversation. So we developed our wireless ClickShare meeting-room system: an easy-to-use tool that allows people to quickly connect to the presentation screen at the click of a button – or via an app – from any device. The result: interaction, collaboration and engagement. ClickShare makes technology no longer a barrier but an enabler – a proposition that really impressed the many CIOs and IT leaders visiting our booth at the past Gartner event!
New H.264 Streaming Transmitter/Receiver and Receiver/Room Controller provide inexpensive way to stream HD content anywhere on the IP network and receive streams from anywhere on the network.
Streaming is great for transmitting video long distance. But when you need switching within a room any delay is unacceptable. Fortunately, DM® can stream and distribute zero-latency, uncompressed video on the same platform. That gives you a tremendous advantage: you can choose the way video is transmitted on an input-by-input and output-by-output basis.
It’s all about bandwidth
Unlike DM, other manufacturers’ streaming-only solutions can’t stream uncompressed 2K or 4K video. They have to compress it. As a result, image quality suffers. The limiting factor in all this is network bandwidth.
Other streaming products on the market consume up to 880Mb/s. Because of the extremely high bandwidth requirements, the number of rooms to which you can stream at any one time is limited. This necessitates many network rules to manage the streams and the bandwidth.
Streaming without limits
DigitalMedia eliminates these problems. It streams high-quality H.264 video at around 10Mb/s out-of-the-box. Additionally, bandwidth consumption is controllable – up to 25 Mb/s for the absolute highest quality, down to less than 1 Mb/s for demanding long distance and mobile applications, where bandwidth is limited and/or very expensive. So, with DM, practically any network can handle unlimited streaming.
In addition to our DM streaming input and output cards for our modular matrix switchers, we now offer the new Streaming Transmitter/Receiver (DM-TXRX-100-STR), and the HD Streaming Receiver & Room Controller 100 (DM-RMC-100-STR) room box receiver. Together, they provide very low-cost, low profile PoE solutions that add streaming to any space without the need of a switcher or control system in the room.

GoldenEar Technology announced today their Triton One Tower Loudspeaker has been honored with the prestigious Stereophile 2015 Loudspeaker of the Year Award. Notes founder and designer Sandy Gross, “Winning Stereophile’s Loudspeaker-of-the-Year is, perhaps, the highest honor that a loudspeaker can achieve in the world of high-end audio. Plus, this is doubly significant for such an affordable loudspeaker as the $5000/pair Triton One. Past years’ winners often sell for $50,000, $100,000, or $200,000 a pair (actually 2007 was the last time there was an “affordable” winning speaker, at $18,000 a pair). In their write-up they deemed the Triton One “Borderline Class A”, a very special achievement when you realize the average Class A speaker this year sold for $54,000 a pair. And to cap it off, the Triton One was also a finalist for Overall-Product-of-the-Year! Quite an amazing honor.”
In their Product of the Year article, they summarized the Triton One’s selection by saying, “For one-fifth the (KEF) Blade Two’s price (the co-winner), the more conventional-looking GoldenEar Triton One is, in its way, no less dazzling. This besocked tower uses GoldenEar’s High-Velocity Folded Ribbon (HVFR) tweeter, plus two 5.25″ midrange cones, three internally powered 5″ by 9″ woofers, and four 7″ by 10″ passive planar radiators, to cover a range that, according to GoldenEar, stretches from 14 Hz. to 35 kHz. Robert Deutsch confirmed that, in his room and system, a pair of Triton Ones extended down to at least 20 Hz in a manner that stressed ‘quality rather than quantity of bass’.”.
GoldenEar Technology, founded in 2010, is the latest speaker company started by iconic industry speaker designer Sandy Gross, one of the founders of Polk Audio and Definitive Technology, and Don Givogue, also a co-founder of Definitive Technology. Quickly becoming the most celebrated and award winning new loudspeaker brand in decades, GoldenEar Technology is focused on creating innovative loudspeakers embodying ultra-high-performance, elegant styling and extraordinary value tailor-made for sale by high-quality specialty retailers.
How to market and sell remote technology support
Here at Ihiji we know how difficult it can be to create recurring monthly revenue (RMR) service plans for clients. We have found that after a little work to integrate into their operational processes, many custom integrators have realized how beneficial selling support services can be for both sides. The customer gets a better experience, remote customer service means more efficient, preemptive support delivery, and of course service plans are a great source for profitable recurring revenue.
Getting started can be overwhelming especially when you don’t have the commitment from all departments in your company. It’s not enough to simply deploy a remote support tool like Ihiji then connect it to just a few client sites. Implementing service plans requires a strong commitment of time and resource.
Our dealers have proven that your best return on investment for remote network management services when you connect all new and existing clients as you’ll be able to leverage truck roll savings across all your clients not just a few.
When it comes to marketing and selling your new AV, automation or IoT clients it is important that you convey the value that the client will receive, especially now with the exploding number of IP (IoT) devices at the home and office.
While this process can be difficult and vexing, it doesn’t have to be. As an Ihiji dealer, you will be assigned a dedicated account manager who can assist you in the entire setup and onboarding process and also once you are operational. They will get you set up with customizable sales collateral pieces and RMR calculators. Using these tools, Ihiji dealers have seen from $30K per year and up in net-new and profitable revenue.
If you are not already an Ihiji client, be sure to download the Ihiji appliance within D-Tools’ System Integrator (SI) software platform and add it to every network design you create.
Also, have a look at our latest case study from Anchor Technology Group out of Tennessee. See how a small shop was able to get RMR services attached to 90% of their clients.
You’re in good hands with Team Ihiji… we’ve done this before.
We would like to wish all of our Dealers, Distributor and Reps, a Happy Holiday season and a safe and prosperous New Year
We invite you to join us at CES

Monitor Audio Introduces the new ‘Controlled Performance’ Luxury In-Wall Speakers
Monitor Audio expands its comprehensive and versatile architectural speaker range with two new flagship ‘Controlled Performance’ models. The luxury CP-IW260X and CP-IW460X in-wall speakers introduce the company’s latest drive-unit technologies in compact three-way, five-driver configurations, built into an acoustically-sealed cast-polymer back box design to deliver the optimum combination of state-of-the-art audio performance and near-invisible installation.
The range-topping CP-IW460X employs a version of the high frequency C-CAM® ribbon transducer used by our acclaimed ‘Gold’ and ‘Platinum’ ranges. Being extremely light and with no break-up modes, the ribbon delivers extraordinary detail beyond an ultra-sonic 50 KHz to reproduce perhaps the most neutral and natural high frequency performance available from any in-wall speaker design. The CP-IW260X uses the latest generation 1” Gold Dome C-CAM tweeter from our ‘Silver’ series speakers, which employs a specially vented housing, allowing the driver to operate freely for lower resonance, optimum damping and greater accuracy.
The bass/mid drivers on the CP Luxury In-Walls are a ‘dished’ cone design. The cones are formed from a continuous sheet of C-CAM for a larger, more rigid radiating area, and with large motors, ‘underhung’ voice coils and robust die-cast alloy chassis, the dished cone design delivers exceptionally low distortion and efficiency for deep, clean, dynamic bass and a wonderfully open and expressive midrange. For the CP-IW460X, the bass/mid drivers are enhanced by Monitor Audio’s RST ‘dimpled’ cone technology, which uses concentric dimples to further strengthen their radiating surfaces.
Complete with trimless, paintable grilles and Monitor Audio’s patented ten-position ‘tri-grip’ mounting system, which offers improved sealing while providing easy and secure installation within standard 4” stud wall bays, the new CP Luxury In-Wall speakers will deliver the natural, full range audio energy you’d expect from a free-standing high-end box, while in a super-compact in-wall format that physically disappears in the room.

In 2016, Terra plans on launching a number of very exciting products. The first is the FIVE Line, a new addition to the AC [All Climate] Series. Like all of our outdoor products, they will be made from driver to cabinet right here in the United States and they come backed with a lifetime guarantee. They are angular and substantially more modern looking than our “Classic” line, which has a very distinctive rounded finish. FIVE will go to market in April. Our friends at Leon Speakers will launch a top shelf residential line of outdoor speakers based on these models, so there will be a variety of options and ranges.
Further, Terra will also launch the Wallin Monitor Series. Designed and engineered in the field by Oscar-Nominated Sound Engineer Dan Wallin, these monitors are tried and tested in the field for which they were created. Wallin, a sound engineer of over 500 films, began designing this model a decade ago to provide the quality, cleanliness and accuracy he found lacking in the studio monitors he had encountered throughout his career. Available in 2 and 3 way models, their drivers are handmade on site and produce pristine sound. At present, they are used in studios responsible for producing dozens of films and albums, many of which are noted and rewarded for a superior attention to sound.
A passive version of the monitors will be available at the start of the year and a powered version later on.

The Torus Power All-In-One (AIO) series was originally developed for the professional recording industry by Arthur Kelm, VP of Engineering at Capitol Studios in Hollywood and CEO of Ground One, a consulting firm that addresses the specific power and grounding requirements of recording facilities and high-end home installations. Arthur’s white paper Defining “Clean Power” Systems is required reading. The paper identifies the need to segregate* sensitive electronics from the polluters in the facility (motors and dimmers to name but two) and then goes on to list what is required to protect and feed these sensitive loads. That list of requirements led directly to the creation of the AIO series.
You can read about the Torus Power AIO series on our website. Our AIO panels offer complete isolation from the electrical grid and superb filtration of common mode and differential mode noise and interference. The extremely low output impedance of the toroidal transformer allows the AIO to offer high instantaneous output current on demand. Every Torus Power AIO panel is equipped with a transient voltage surge suppression (TVSS) module to protect valuable components from destructive surges and spikes. As an added bonus, the TVSS circuitry also provides an additional 40dB of noise filtration. Add a Torus Power AIO panel to isolate, protect, and dramatically improve the performance, dynamics, and reliability of audio/video and control systems.
* The Torus Power All-In-One panel is custom engineered to isolate audio, video, automation and control systems from all other electrical systems and devices including motors, dimmers, and fluorescent lighting fixtures.
