ATEN Control System Enhances Customizability with New Features
The Control System’s expansion boxes provide extra port connections that can be used to meet the needs of larger and more complex environments. ATEN will firstly release a 4-Port Serial Expansion Box, the VK224, and follow this with an 8-Channel Relay and 6-Port IR/Serial Expansion Box by the end of year. The new expansion boxes will allow customers to match the exact requirements of any installation.
The ATEN Control System, unlike competing solutions, does not require the purchase of exclusive user panels. Instead, the control system can be managed through an intuitive app-based user interface on an iOS, Windows or Android device.
Released last year, the ATEN Control System has been well received by end customers and system integrators alike due to its simple and intuitive setup, deployment, and control. The ATEN Control System easily empowers individuals without a technical background to manage and control any device in a room. As a result, the ATEN solution lowers overheads by eliminating the costs associated with the additional manpower and training time of other control systems.
ATEN now also provides a driver download page so that users can seamlessly integrate a number of devices from various brands within their installation. This includes products from ATEN’s major partners BenQ, BXB, Lumens and Optoma.

AudioControl Partners With Leading Architectural Speaker Companies To Launch Sound Partners Program
AudioControl has announced a new industry alliance initiative called the AudioControl Sound Partners Program. The objective of the Sound Partners Program is to work with industry-leading architectural speaker manufacturers in order to implement performance profiles defined by their engineers which, when stored in the DSP onboard the AudioControl Director M-Series of high-performance 8 and 16-channel amplifiers, creates the ultimate whole-house entertainment/commercial audio platform for professional integrators.
Four prominent architectural loudspeaker manufacturers have joined the Sound Partners Program—Origin Acoustics, James Loudspeaker, Triad Speakers and Stealth Acoustics. Each company has provided critical performance measurements to AudioControl, enabling tailored profiles to be created and stored in software form. “With today’s superlative loudspeaker designs, we acknowledge that products from these brands would likely require little if any fine-tuning in an ideal environment,” explained AudioControl CEO Alex Camara. “However when you factor in individual room acoustics for each home, these speaker profiles achieve an important step in providing the custom integrator the tools to deliver a premium entertainment experience by calibrating the systems for their clients. Together with the DSP capabilities in The Director M-Series amplifiers, AudioControl gives integrators the most efficient means to make that happen while differentiating themselves in a competitive market.”
AudioControl’s Director M-Series lineup is expanding with the addition of two new models including a 1U, 8-channel solution called the M4800 coming soon. All models are capable of 100 watts per channel at 8 Ohms, 200 watts at 4 Ohms and 400 watts bridged. M-Series amplifiers offer powerful DSP-based functionality along with AudioControl’s legendary sound quality, and can be used either as a standalone matrix-amplifier or as part of a 3rd party control system.
For more information or to become a member of the AudioControl Sound Partner Program, contact Brandon Cook at email@example.com or (425) 997-4985.

Kristopher Sherman joins as Director of Regional Sales for Texas and Jamie Teahan is the new Director of E-Commerce and Marketing.
“In recent months, Clare has partnered with a number of top residential builders including Meritage Homes, David Weekley Homes, Fulton Homes, Garrett-Walker Homes and AV Homes proving that our smart home solutions resonate with both builders and homeowners,” said Brett Price, CEO Clare Controls. “As we continue to grow, it is crucial that we have the right people to share the Clare value proposition and support these customers. “Kristopher’s experience on both the technical and sales side of the AV business is beneficial to our customers as he understands the challenges they face specifying jobs, working in the field, and supporting the customers after the sale and installation. He will be a tremendous asset for our rapidly growing sales efforts in the Southwest region,” stated Price.
A digital media professional with nearly a decade of experience in interactive advertising and management, Teahan will be responsible for driving homeowner engagement in the soon-to-be launched MyClareHome customer portal, an online resource for Clare homeowners. Most recently, she has held account management and client services roles with Hone Inc. and Demand Media.
“The myClareHome portal will be the hub for Clare customers to go and obtain information about their systems, activate features and purchase additional devices. History of DirectConnect®
DirectConnect® was born in 1996 from a request for a patch cable without a strain relief. Years ago all interconnects were molded plastic with a large molded strain relief at each end. After exhausting all of our domestic suppliers, DirectConnect® created a new line of custom products designed by the installer and manufactured to their specifications.
The result was the first line of audio / video interconnects without a strain relief. Cables could be easily separated for left/right audio and video. They no longer snagged the back of equipment shelves when equipment was pulled forward for service or installations.
Following our interconnect line, was a family of “installer designed” products.
- Double-packed tie wraps of 1000 with individual 100’s inside.
- DirectConnect® structured wiring cans were the first in the industry to have both security and fire UL ratings allowing the installation of security modules while retaining the UL rating when installed.
- One of the first to partner with Jeffrey Boccaccio to have our HDMI® interconnects DPL rated.
- Mounts with “Vertical Rail Adjustment Compensation” (VRAC) for mounting every display perfectly level even if the mount is not.
- Ceiling accessory plate for any fixed or tilt mount to convert the mount to a ceiling mount.
- Outdoor patio and pendant speakers that are 8ohm and 70v for more flexible installations.
- Racks completely assembled with vented shelves and blanks included.
- Racks that build from 11u to 37u in minutes and are UPS® shippable as well as narrow enough for in-cabinet installations.
- Inventor of the bulk wire plate known as the “NOSE” plate (patented 2005)
- Inventor of the “EZ RJ45 Jack” (patented 2007)
- Inventor of the HDMI® keystone “PIGTAIL” female to female (patented 2007)
- Inventor of the reversible “NOSE” plate (patented 2010)
DirectConnect® expanded its presence in with the following trademark registrations:
- DirectConnect® (2001)
- Vinson® Acoustics (2012)
- ReelView® (2012)
- LedBetter® (2012)
- PRISMA4KOLOR® (2015)
Why do we invest so much time and money into our DirectConnect® family of products? So you will discover the things our competitors are missing. Through research and development, we strive not only to improve the function and packaging for every product, but also to deliver it at an exceptional value and competitive price.
We take suggestions and criticism seriously.
What is next? Manufacturers know that it will be challenging to thread the needle on 4K. They stand to lose if the rest of the system from the source to the display is not over the threshold. We have a few surprises up our sleeve. Our most exciting addition will be the PRISMA4KOLOR® interconnect line, delivering prismatic deep color for 4K applications. You need a solid cable that will deliver a solid 4K picture you can depend on. PRISMA4KOLOR® cables are the answer. Now Available.

GoldenEar Technology to Feature Invisible Atmos System II at CEDIA 2016 in Dallas, Showcasing the New, Ultra-Compact Ultra High-Performance SuperSub™ X
Last year at CEDIA, GoldenEar Technology literally shocked show-goers with extraordinary sound from a virtually invisible Atmos System that featured the GoldenEar in-ceiling Invisa® HTR 7000s for all three front channels as well as the four height channels, Invisa MPX in-wall rear surrounds and the award winning SuperSub XXL. This year, GoldenEar will feature a similarly superb sounding and also virtually invisible Atmos system called Invisible Atmos System II, incorporating Invisa MPXs for both front left and right main channels and rear surrounds, Invisa HTR 7000s for the four height channels (the GoldenEar in-ceiling Invisa HTR 7000s have become the reference standard for Atmos height speakers), and a SuperSat 60C Center speaker – along with the new, game-changing, SuperSub X, which is shipping to dealers immediately following its CEDIA debut.
The SuperSub X, which is already receiving praise as “a true compact wonder”, is a smaller version of the award winning SuperSub XXL introduced last year to universally rave reviews. Of course, it also incorporates GoldenEar’s unique and patent-pending Dual-Plane Inertially-Balanced Technology. This force-cancelling inertial balancing preserves, conserves and focuses all the energy produced by the transducers in order to effectively move the air in the room (rather than vibrating and shaking the cabinet), as well as enabling full recovery of the finest and most subtle details, rather than allowing loss and blurring due to wasted energy and box movement. Also, because there are two active drivers that are separated horizontally in space, as well as two sub-bass radiators, which are similarly separated vertically, the driver-to-room coupling and bass response, is distributed much more smoothly, allowing the different drivers to couple to different room standing wave patterns (called eigenmodes).
The SuperSub X is housed in a beautifully styled, luxuriously finished, ultra-compact (it’s basically just a 12-1/2” cube!) gloss piano black lacquer cabinet, which contains two long-throw 8” drivers, two 10-1/2” x 9-1/2” quadratic planar infrasonic radiators, a 1400 watt ForceField Digital Amplifier and a 56 bit DSP device, which is virtually a mini-computer controlling multiple performance parameters. There is a precision level control, a 12 dB per octave low pass control, continuously variable from 40Hz-200Hz, for the two stereo RCA inputs, and a switch to select the direct-coupled, unfiltered LFE input. Overall frequency response is 12Hz-200Hz. All this advanced technology results in absolutely the finest sounding ultra-compact subwoofer ever produced; clearly the holy grail: combining superb musicality with extreme extension and room-shaking impact. Shipping in late September 2016. Retail price is $1249 each.
Please visit us at CEDIA 2016, Sound Room 10 and hear this superb sounding breakthrough system, for yourself. The total system cost is $5040. See complete product specifications on the next page.

MOBOTIX Cameras and Doorstations Serverless Technology Seamless Alignment with Home Automation.
Since 2000, MOBOTIX IP cameras have been known for their high-quality video performance and low bandwidth consumption thanks to the decentralized architecture. The cameras themselves execute video analysis & event detection internally, and manage their video ring buffer on a NAS or server by themselves. This reduces the workload of the VMS workstation and network dramatically. Network fluctuations or longer interruptions are compensated by an onboard video buffer (SD card, up to 200GB). As a result, MOBOTIX video systems are without the need of expensive VMS servers (MxManagementCenter VMS is 100% free-of-charge) and less network infrastructure than other brands. This reduces the overall system costs as well as power consumption and the total energy bill. Encrypted recording by the camera itself guarantees data security and privacy. With the use of the Input and Output boxes, MOBOTIX is also able to seamlessly integrate into the intelligent building space by controlling lights, doors, gates and blinds among other things, as well as bringing window contacts, door contacts and pressure sensors into the system to satisfy every aspect of the security landscape. With MOBOTIX you are able to build an end-to-end solution to fit any of your ever changing needs.

WyreStorm’s Latest HDBaseT, HDMI and 1GB / 10Gb Networked AV Solutions to Offer “The Right Technology for the Application” at CEDIA 2016.
CEDIA 2016 will see WyreStorm showcasing a new 4K product line of HDMI and HDBaseT extenders, matrix switchers and splitters fully supporting HDMI 2.0 video standards, HDCP 2.2 and HDR, ensuring total compatibility with the very latest 4K UHD content, source and display devices.
Hal Truax, WyreStorm VP of Sales and Marketing, states that now, more than ever, understanding the technology used to transmit 4K UHD is vital in its successful application.
“At CEDIA, WyreStorm will cut through the clutter with clear, with informative demonstrations of the technologies currently available, and the various refresh rate, chroma subsampling and color depth decisions required to get the content where it needs to go within the bandwidth available for each technology.”
WyreStorm’s HDBaseT matrix switchers get a shot of adrenaline with 4K@60Hz 444 10bit BT.2020 HDR updates to existing H2 models and new H2X flagship models unveiled offering 16 (HDMI) x16 (HDBT) + 16 (HDMI) (and 10×10+10) models with built-in 48×16 (and 30×10) audio matrix to de-embed HDMI source audio, manage and output ARC from all zones or take audio-only sources, mix and switch to zones.
Truax sees this new addition to the HDBaseT matrix line as significant step up for WyreStorm:
“With HDBaseT distribution, signals can be transmitted to one zone, but the audio output on that transmission module can potentially be from another zone, with an audio device such as Sonos routed to it, which really adds another layer of functionality to AV signal distribution for the home.”
All new WyreStorm extender products also include internal re-clocking for improved compatibility with certain 4K source devices found to experience clock-stretching issues that effect communication between devices.
WyreStorm’s CEDIA booth will also feature a side-by-side comparison of WyreStorm’s signal distribution technologies, including 4K over HDMI and HDBaseT and newly announced 4K over 10GB and 1GB over IP solutions showcased for the first time at the show, for attendees to decide for themselves which technology they prefer for residential AV applications.
It’s the place to be for game-changing signal distribution.
