BitWise Controls Unveils Its Newest Product, the BitWise Room Remote
The handheld remote can be used to control all BitWise-connected devices in a room. It includes keys for common audio and visual functions and, thanks to its utilization of an RF base station to connect with BitWise controllers, line-of-sight is not required.
The intuitive design allows a room to be controlled with the remote as well as by BitWise apps. The remote and apps stay in sync during use, which means a selection made via control app is automatically transferred to the remote and vice versa—so there is no need to re-select.
Now BitWise clients can enjoy the simplicity of a handheld remote, without foregoing the robust two-way interaction and whole-home control offered by the BitWise Touch app. Integrators will be able to add a Room Remote and RF receiver to any BitWise controller, and multiple remotes can communicate with a single RF receiver. Additionally, up to 255 remotes can be incorporated into an installation, making this a scalable option for commercial projects.

Kramer USA Moves to New Headquarters Facility
Kramer Electronics is pleased to announce the opening of their new United States headquarters facility, the new home for the Kramer USA sales, marketing and product development/support teams. The new facility is located in the Township of Union, in Hunterdon County, NJ; about two miles from the company’s previous US headquarters facility.
Tremendous sales growth along with a strong desire and commitment to further promote the professional AV industry through education, were the key factors for the Kramer USA relocation to this 60,000sq ft building. The new headquarters facility boasts a state of the art training center fully equipped with cutting−edge technology, which will allow for an unparalleled training experience.
The training center in Kramer’s new headquarters facility will allow a more hands−on and interactive learning environment for students. Amongst many things, Kramer will be using the new training facility to provide Kramer Digital Systems Training (KDST) which can lead to certification as a Kramer Certified Digitalist (KCD). This training is an in−depth examination of the technologies and key principles all Pro AV professionals should know in order to best design, sell, and install profitable digital AV systems. It will focus on real−world Best Practices with a concentration on diagnosing and correcting digital signal flow challenges in both the design and installation phases. Accreditation, which includes a certificate and permission to use and display the KCD logo, will be awarded upon passing an open−book examination on the material presented during the training. Attendance at this training also earns the student valuable InfoComm Renewal Units.

SAVANT® Introduces SmartLighting Wi-Fi Lighting Control System
Savant Systems, LLC has announced the introduction of their SmartLighting Wi-Fi 802.11-based lighting control products, delivering a versatile solution that can be used as both a standalone lighting control platform or as part of a complete Savant automation system. Featuring a dimmer inside each Wi-Fi-connected keypad, Savant has created the ultimate customizable solution ideal for both new construction and retrofit lighting control that can be integrated without rewiring the home or commercial facility. Savant’s SmartLighting technology expands the brand’s presence in the growing connected home marketplace with a versatile Wi-Fi-based lighting control system.
Savant’s networked lighting control solution is ideal for the commercial marketplace, suited to such applications as event scheduling; having your conference room lights turn on just before a meeting, or having predetermined facility lights turn off once the security system has been activated, reducing energy costs. And because these lighting control devices operate on the network, Savant integrators will be able to offer remote system maintenance, control and diagnostics with maximum efficiency utilizing Savant’s Enterprise Management System to be introduced later this year. “Our Wi-Fi lighting control solution is yet another in a series of intelligent devices designed by Savant to bring more features and functionality to a controlled environment,” stated Carroll. Savant’s Wi-Fi lighting control system including a standalone lighting control iOS app will become available October, 2013.
TruAudio Redesigns Popular X-Series Speaker To Become New Frameless Phantom Series
TruAudio engineered upgrades in its X-Series of speakers, giving it a popular frameless grill to meet increasing client demand. The new frameless home audio speaker line has been renamed the Phantom Series. TruAudio introduced the AV industry to the frameless speaker back in 2008 when it created the patented Ghost Series of in-ceiling speakers. Since then, the demand for frameless speakers has increased dramatically. Clients prefer the minimum visual impact afforded by a frameless speaker. AV integrators appreciate the ease of installation.
The Phantom has a superior crossover and components. It comes with a paintable, powder coated steel grill that has a 2 millimeter reveal for a clean, minimalist footprint on the ceiling. Being frameless, the Phantom is also a very quick and easy install. The Phantom saves an installer time and money – a “one-ladder job” – no messing with multiple installation trips, paint guards and potentially scratching or damaging the speaker.
