In the A/V industry many integrators have found success in the classroom and conference rooms spaces. Classrooms challenge designers like no other space due to a rich variety of sources and budgets that squeeze tightly on the project. VCRs, VGA PCs, HDMI PCs, Blu-rays, document cameras, iPads and interactive boards all need to be integrated at a low price and still be flexible enough to be replicate tens, hundreds, or even thousands of times. Better communication drives better business! Communication technology needs to operate simply and smoothly so the technology doesn’t overshadow the sales presentations, new ideas, and team sharing that define business meetings.
To answer these challenges Atlona has developed the CLSO-612. The CLSO-612 is a single component to address an array of AV switching and processing needs often encountered in boardrooms, classrooms and other presentation settings. It is the most advanced 4K-capable, HDBaseT switcher for systems which need to accept multiple digital and analog inputs as selectable sources for displays located as far as 230 feet away. AT-UHD-CLSO-612 is equipped with two HDBaseT, two HDMI, and two analog inputs, and provides switching, up- and down-scaling, audio de-embedding, and signal extension capabilities in a single rack-unit enclosure. The CLSO-612 permits source selection, master/sub volume control, audio line-level and EQ adjustments, and other functions manually via the front panel or remotely via IR, RS-232, or IP control. The CLSO-612 also utilizes Atlona’s exclusive Power over Category Cable (PoCC) technology to power remote HDBaseT transmitters handling source content as well as to power an HDBaseT receiver located at the video display.
Atlonas’ CLSO-612 enables these systems to be integrated simply, powerfully, and efficiently by combining multiple functions in a single box. To more learn more about Atlona solutions for the commercial marketplace please visit Atlona online at Atlona.com.

Theater Seating Designed to Your Specifications
Made in the USA
GoldenEar’s Invisa architectural speakers have set new performance standards for in-wall and in-ceiling loudspeakers. Incorporating our High Velocity Folded Ribbon Tweeters with bass/midrange drivers developed from the units incorporated in our highly reviewed stand-alone home speakers, the Invisa speakers have quickly become the choice when the finest level of sound quality is desired. Now, we are pleased to introduce an all-in-one stereo speaker that brings Invisa sound quality into this very popular single speaker stereo format.
Like the Invisa 650, the new Invisa SP 652 utilizes a one-piece driver/frame/flange construction in order to maximize performance and minimize their footprint. Solidly constructed of a marble-infused polymer, the unitized construction actually has the high-definition wide-dispersion dual-wound voice-coil 6.5”driver constructed as an integral part, which has clear performance advantages. Special care has been taken to minimize deleterious diffraction effects that are common in many other stereo speakers that sink the drivers deeply into the structure. The two superb, but costly, HVFR tweeters are mounted in a special acoustically optimized high-frequency pod with a precisely calculated angle to maximize stereo coverage and radiation into the room. It is unique to find tweeters of this quality in single point stereo speakers. Two complex crossovers incorporating the highest quality components are utilized to precisely blend the drivers for seamless exquisite sound quality. A specially contoured santoprene anti-resonance/diffraction-control ring is incorporated around the driver and covering the surrounds to further optimize performance. There is also a high-frequency equalization switch to precisely match the SP 652 to any environment.
The SP 652 is designed for both in-ceiling and in-wall use. It comes standard with a round, paintable MagnetLock™ fastened micro-perf grille and there is an optional square grille available. The low-profile grille fully covers the mounting flange, a concept first introduced to the industry by GoldenEar’s Sandy Gross, for a highly desirable stealth appearance. Robust mounting dogs securely hold the whole assembly firmly in place. We believe that the SP 652 is the finest sounding single- point stereo speaker ever produced. Projected retail price is $429 each and anticipated availability is December, 2014. Please visit us and see the new Invisa SP 652 at CEDIA 2014, Booth SR-3.

Power, Protection and Isolation for Sensitive Electronics
(Based on Defining “Clean Power” Systems by Arthur S. Kelm)
Power and grounding are the heart of any electronic system. This is especially true for audio and video systems. The unfortunate reality is that utility power and generator power are not adequate for critical load applications.
In order to control power quality, one has to look at the source of the power and how it is being distributed through the facility. Ideally all loads need to be categorized and isolated from one another. We can define three basic categories.
1. Motors (refrigeration, air conditioning and water pumps)
2. Lighting and appliances (microwaves, coffee makers, dimmers etc.)
3. Sensitive electronics (control systems, audio and video equipment).
If all of our motor loads are on the same panel or sub panels, we can control the negative effects that are common whenever a motor starts up (such as seeing the lights dim when an air conditioner turns on). Having dedicated panels and circuits will eliminate this problem.
LIGHTING and APPLIANCES:
These loads are generally not a problem. The exceptions are florescent light ballasts and SCR dimmer circuits. Keeping these loads separate from other loads will isolate any negative effects.
These are the most critical loads. They require at minimum:
1. A properly engineered and installed grounding system
2. Electrostatic triple-shielded isolation transformer, including RF filtering along with spike and surge suppression
3. Breaker panel with high quality bolt-in breakers, copper bus bars and isolated ground bus bar
4. Additional high-quality TVSS and filtering installed in panel board
5. Stranded wire to feed receptacles
6. Hospital grade receptacles
7. Voltage regulation (in areas with recurring utility power fluctuations).
A Torus Power toroidal isolation power conditioner is the ideal power source for sensitive electronics. Locate the Torus Power unit as close as possible to the main components of the system. This allows the impedance of the system to be as low possible. In studio and theater applications, the distance should be less than 50 feet. For audiophile applications, it should not exceed 20 feet.
Show Floor, Booth 284
Wisdom Audio, the leader in designing and manufacturing high-performance planar magnetic transducers will deliver an active private cinema demonstration in Booth 284.
The 18-seat theater will feature Wisdom Audio line sources across the screen wall and all six surrounds, for the same completely immersive experience that wowed attendees at Expo 2013, and six new S110 Regenerating Transmission LineÒ subwoofers.
Other key partners for this demonstration include Seymour Screen Excellence with a 160-inch wide True Aspect Masking screen, Display Development with their Helios Studio projector, Savant Systems for system control and automation, and Access Networks for a robust and reliable network on the crowded show floor.
“So much design, engineering and coordination from industry specialists have gone into this partnership, all with a single goal to put together the best home cinema experience at this year’s Expo,” said Wisdom Audio’s Todd Sutherland, VP Marketing. “We know it will be the show’s Must See!!”
