Vista Users Upgrading to SI5.5 SP1

Submitted by Senos on 09/28/2009 – 7:46 amNo Comment

55_logoThis posting is to inform you of a slight variation in which the update to SP1 must be run on a Vista machine.  Most of the instructions in this post apply but there is one exception, you must run the updates as an administrator.

Issue: When updating to SP1 on a Vista machine, you get the following message: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Note: This message does not occur when running the update to the Update Utility but rather occurs when running the actual update to SP1.  If you are unclear of the two-part update procedure, see this post.

Solution: After the Update Utility has installed, select Start->All Programs->D-Tools->Check for Server Updates (if on your server) or Start->All Programs->D-Tools->Check for Updates if you are on a Client machine, right-click  and choose “Run as administrator”.
